Returning to Chateau De Mavaleix was a delightful experience. The recently refurbished restaurant Henri IV exudes a warm and friendly ambiance, perfect for dining in modern, tasteful comfort by the open fire. The location, nestled in the magnificent valleys of 'Périgord Vert', near La Coquille, offers a truly picturesque setting.The historical charm of the 13th-century castle, surrounded by gardens, forests, and ponds, provides a tranquil environment for relaxation. Our stay was elevated by the amenities like the swimming pool, boules pitch, and the inviting bar 'Saint Hubert'. The large bathroom with a classic bath and walk-in shower added a touch of luxury to our visit.The breakfast on our private patio, with a view of the estate and grazing cattle during sunrise, was a truly serene experience. Chateau De Mavaleix felt like a hidden gem for those who appreciate nostalgia, outdoor activities, and gastronomic delights. It was a perfect retreat for a group of friends or family looking to immerse themselves in the charm of the past while enjoying modern comforts.
